Basic Sweet Cornbread
Some would argue that cornbread should not be sweet.
Some say real cornbread doesn't have sugar.
Hmmmm, well, let’s agree to disagree.
Sweet cornbread’s texture is a cross between between a cake and a bread. It is considered a quick bread because it does not require yeast for leavening.
It can be baked in a skillet or baking pan.
Sweet cornbread goes well with chili, as a base for cornbread dressing, dipped in buttermilk, topped with butter and honey or just as it is.
