Mayonnaise
Mayonnaise is an emulsion of oil, egg yolks and acidic flavorings. It is thick and creamy and is the base of other sauces:
- Tartar Sauce
- Thousand Island Dressing
- Ranch Dressing
- Aioli’s = anytime you add something to Mayo
Homemade Mayo takes about 5 minutes.
You make as much as you need to avoid waste, and control all the ingredients.
Ingredients
- 3 Egg Yolks
- 1 tsp Mustard (dry or prepared)
- 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1-2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Sea Salt
- 5 oz Avocado Oil
- 1 tsp each Louisiana Hot Sauce/Sriracha OPTIONAL
Instructions
- Put all ingredients, EXCEPT OIL, into blender or food processor.
- Turn blender on high and slowly pour in oil.
- The mayo will start to thicken up after a couple of minutes.
