Sloppy Joe Sandwich

Sloppy Joes are a classic American sandwich made with ground meat (beef, pork or turkey) in a sweet and tangy tomato-based sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 large Red/Purple Onion, small chopped
  • 1 large Red Bell Pepper, small chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Avocado Oil
  • 1 1/3 pound Ground Meat (beef, pork or turkey)
  • 1 bottle Chili Sauce, 12 oz
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Tabasco or Sriracha
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar

Instructions

  1. Sauté onion and bell pepper in oil.  When onions are slightly translucent add garlic.  Cook for 1 more minute.
  2. Place sautéed vegetables in a bowl and set aside. 
  3. Put ground meat in sauté pan, cook until brown (fully cooked, no pink).
  4. Add cooked vegetables, chili sauce, Worcestershire, Tabasco to pan with ground meat.  Stir together, let simmer about 10 minutes.
  5. Turn off heat and add vinegar.  Serve on your favorite bread rolls.
